About Founder

La Dolce Far Niente (ITALIAN) , meaning the sweetness of nothingness- that best describes Gautam’s outlook on life. Gautam truly believes that the best moments are lived in the meditative state of nothingness. When not indulging in this luxury, he’s busy celebrating life building Poshtels. An ardent design thinker- Gautam likes to creates spaces that inspire energy, creativity, comfort and lots of hygge (swedish for coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment)

Gautam describes himself as a global citizen, the formative years of his life shaped while working for the world’s largest youth-run organisation. Some call it an ‘experiential MBA’, but its vision of “Peace and fulfilment of human kind’s potential” and its values of diversity, integrity, sustainability, leadership and team work make it much more. This leadership journey allowed him to have a thriving global network of hundreds of like-minded youth across the globe. The global exposure and travel inspired him to create spaces beyond borders, a space where people from across the world could come together and celebrate. And that’s how Poshtel was born/ Poshtel lives and breathes exactly that.

From a design perspective, the intent was simple- to blend the concept of a boutique hotel with an upscale hostel while focusing on finer details such as creating a community vibe and minimalism. Our Poshtels are created keeping more than just functionality in mind, it’s about building a tribe of wanderlust travellers seeking community based experiences that is in sync with the modern millennial mindset that focuses on connections and collaborations.

“I think before you embark on a project such as a Poshtel you need to understand your value proposition, what you are bringing to the world. I always ask myself, “Why will my guests feel more enriched, more empowered as a result of staying at or hanging out in one of our properties?” Having established that art, culture, and curated experiences will be at the core of what is on offer, we commit to opening hearts and minds through our timeless and inclusive vibe. We always focus on culture, community, and hospitality.”

Poshtel is a very personal project and it stands for everything I am.
